Member Discussion Meetings -- Threats to Our Voting Rights Are Still Very Real

Wth presidential executive orders, lawsuits, court rulings, and then appeals to those court rulings, it's hard to keep up with many efforts to make voting harder for many citizens. And then there's the postal service, which may delay delivering your ballot.
Let's talk about the continuing threats and what you can do to oppose them. Members and guests, join us for these discussions.

Nationwide Day of Action

Saturday, August 8 — We'll be celebrating the anniversary of the federal Voting Rights Act, with voter registration and get-out-the-vote activities. We'll be sending postcards to registered voters who haven't voted in recent years, urging them to exercise their right to have their voices heard. League members, we'd love to have your help. Member meeting and luncheon with LWVWA State President Karen Crowley

Wednesday, September 30 -- 12 noon - 2 p.m., Greenbank Progressive Club

Meet our dynamic and inspiring state president Karen Crowley, who will fill us in on all our state League is doing to defend democracy in these challenging times, and how the state League is expanding its support of local Leagues.  Learn more about Karen.

This will also be a fundraising meeting. We'll offer sandwiches and salads from the Greenbank Deli, and ask you to pay a bit more than the cost of the food to help boost our operating fund. Our expenses have grown significantly in the past year as we've increased our visibility in the communcity and held more events to call attention to the serious threats to democracy we are facing.
