Here's What's Happening Now
Annual Membership Meeting — Saturday, June 13
This meeting — to elect board directors, adopt the 2026–2027 budget, and approve proposed bylaws amendments — is for LWV Whidbey members only. Learn more here.
Primary Election Candidate Forums — Thursday, July 9 and Thursday, July 16
We'll hold a forum for the Island County assessor, auditor and clerk positions on July 9, and for Legislative District 10 state representatives, Island County commissioner and sheriff on July 16. These nonpartisan forums are your chance to hear candidates' views on important issues before you cast your vote in the August 4 primary election. Learn more here.
Decline to Sign Campaign Against IP26-500
IP26-500 is an initiative that would add burdensome proof of citizenship requirements to our state's voter registration rules. This initiative must gather more than 309,000 signatures by July 2 in order to be placed on the November 2026 ballot.
The League of Women Voters of Washington opposes this initiative and urges voters to "Decline to Sign" when approached by signature gatherers. Learn more at the LWVWA website.
